Get Ready to Go Local!
Good day to all of you friends and fans! With the exception of some traditional Southwest Colorado Spring winds and a April Snow Shower, the days have been pretty beautiful, wouldn’t you say? We find ourselves one quarter of the way through 2013 and some of Created In Colorado’s featured food producers are gearing up for an exciting summer season of fresh locally produced foods. Indian Ridge Farm and BakeryLike farms all over the Western Slope, Indian Ridge Farm and Bakery are busy preparing for the 2013 growing season! As you read this newsletter, chicks are arriving that will be pastured and eventually processed into delicious grass fed broilers.
In addition to tasty chicken, Indian Ridge Farm and Bakery also operates a CSA. Growing over 100 varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers to fill the CSA boxes, an easy, delicious way to support local farmers, and the hands that grew your food. THEY STILL HAVE OPENINGS IN THE CSA! Laid Back RanchLaid Back Ranch is gearing up for the 2013 Summer Season, with organic grass fed beef and beautiful eggs from pastured chickens. Their beef will be available by the cut this summer, including ground beef, steaks, ribs and more. They will be processing by the quarter, half and whole this summer for those folks looking to fill up their freezers. Look for them at the Norwood Farmers Markets on Saturday mornings and Ridgway Farmers Market this summer on Friday mornings.
